1.By Road It takes 12 hrs 27 min which is (672.1 km) via A104 and A1 From Nairobi to Kitale (which is the transit point to Lodwar ) which is about 6 to 8 hours and the road conditions are not bad;from Kitale one has to pass through the new tarmac via Kapenguria-Kainuk-Lokichar to Lodwar road.Off road four wheel drive vehicles and SUV are most preferable but also salon cars can navigate through the terrain.Always ensure you refuel to full tank as the distant between two the towns is abit longer .If one is using public means the Nissan Shuttles are dependable all the way from Nairobi to Kitale then change over to another Nissan shuttle that will bring you to Lodwar.
2.By Air we have Skyward & Fly540 flights plying Nairobi-Lodwar all round the week twice a day;this can be booked through an agent or directly on their websites.Note that Skyward is boarded at Wilson Airport & Fly540 at JKIA both in Nairobi.One can also choose to charter a plane to Lodwar or a helicopter.
